So to catch you up....
Nate and I have been looking for a place to live and as many of us are, we're sick of trying to find a rental that allows dogs or allows dogs and isn't in close proximity to children, other dogs or a busy road, etc. So we got a real estate agent and have been looking at few places. We started off looking for multi-family homes as to pay the mortgage with the second units rent. Not only are there very few places around of that nature in our price range but there are very few in good condition not next to the sewer treatment plant....
So I was looking through one of those real estate publishings scoffing at the ridiculously high priced homes and the disgustingly large homes that aren't even year round residencies!! While only looking for fun and certainly not for practicality, I found a very affordable, very cute, very old single family house. I showed Nate and he looking it up online, found that it was in Wolcott and decided it was something he and I would both like to see. We went to look at it a week later and love it.
To make a long story slightly shorter, Nate put an offer on it last week and Friday, the sellers accepted the offer and it's now under contract and the closing date is scheduled for July 10th if all goes well. So we're through phase one. phase two is getting the financing. Nate is applying this week for an FHA loan and will find out tonight how long we should expect to wait to find out. So Horray!! :)
Here is the link to the website where the house is listed, if you go to the bottom of the page you can take a slideshow tour. There's a whole second half of the 1st floor missing from the photos. It's totally gutted and an awesome fresh palette for us to do with whatever we please!! Very exciting!
